They love their Auntie!

It was nice to have the day off today. I have been working so much that I come over just to hold them. I fear I have not been any help at all. They must really love their Auntie because every time I go over they are sleepy little cuddle bugs. Leah and the boys came home from the hospital on Monday! I was at work but David took tons of pictures and video.

Today I got to hold both babies at once. It was mucho fun. Leah and Michael have been doing so great, I am blown away by how much they are dealing with. And my sweet mom has been so supportive of all of them. They love their Mimi too.

David and I graduate training on Saturday, which is cool. Working together is really nice. It is like having an instant best friend at work, he understands my bad days, and we are a few steps away if we want to chat.

But what am I rattling on for? You want to see baby pictures right? I am hoping that things will settle down a bit and I can get some great new pictures of them on Sunday, my next day off.

David holding Brody.

Dylan about to go home from the hospital.

Leaving the hospital. Dylan has the cream blanket (left), Brody has the blue (right).

No Pictures Today

Well I worked all yesterday, :(, so I didn't get to take pictures much. So this is kinda the written update of everyone's progress.

* The babies are doing really well. Every report we get from their Dr. is good.
* Dylan and Brody are both wiggly. They don't like to be still. Ahhh yes, these are Leah's babies. We have been watching the tummy move and grove and these little wigglers were in there.
* They look a lot alike, but you can tell them apart. Brody is a little skinny, but he is working on it, he is a good eater. Dylan is a pensive little guy. He furrows his brow and has a little down turned mouth. Brody just seems a little more easy going but I think he is just sleepy. I remember him being the real mover so look out for Brody, he is going to be wild. Dylan will be the tenacious leader (just like his parents).
* Leah is alright. Poor thing is healing from surgery. And she lost her voice. :( But she is a great mom already. I love to see her hold them and talk to them and call them little pet names.

Candy on my pillow

Valentine's Day David and I were working but when I got home there was a box of SweetTarts with a little note that said
"Analee, Happy Valentine's Day!! I love you. P.S. Look under your Siggie sweatshirt."

So I went to my t-shirt shelf and there was a Toblerone with a little note that said
"Good Job! Now go look in the bookshelf behind the CD books."

In the bookshelf there was a box of nerds with a little note that said
"Great! Now if you look under the Wheel of Fun you'll find something GREAT!"

Under the Wheel of Fun was a box of red hots (which are hard to find by the way) and my valentine's card was on the box.

How fun? And how much does this man know me, a scavenger hunt of candy?!? Seriously, it was great.

Nibs and Nips

Ok, so even the cleverest of folk occasionally make mistakes. My mother gets a gold star for reading comprehension. I am trying to appologize for the mistaken pushlishing of "nipple" instead of nibble. Oopsie!

So in honor of Nibbles (another word for tiny snack in our houshold) some
Blog Nibbles:
* The Twinkies are doing well. They are so big, still in the mid-5 lb range but doing so well for the amount of space they are floating around in. We are expecting them anytime now!

* The little guys have a daddy a year older. Michael had a birthday. David and I brought a steak dinner to him and made special Birthday Banana Splits. It was a small celebration but a good time.

* For the first time ever, I think, I felt like a wife. I was trimming David's sideburns and neck fur and I felt like "Ok, now we are married." I guess that is because my mom used to trim/cut my dad's hair way back in the day.

* Also, da da da da, David and I got jobs! Woo hoo! We are useful human beings again! It is our first week so we are still getting used to things but it is good to be working again.

More elusived than Sasquatch...

You HAVE to watch this video, in it's entirety, that we made on Friday.

There is a water fountain in Houston beside a jogging trail along a bayou. When I was little I would look especially for this water fountain because it was topped with a sculpture of an armadillo. Since those days of armadillo hunting in Houston, the armadillo has been one of my favorite animals. (eyes are rolling from people that know me claiming EVERY animal is one of my favorites)

David and I went on a spontaneous adventure to Abilene State Park on Friday, just for fun. I had been once before with my parents and saw a live armadillo. I had been raving about my experience with the scaling little guy.

We played on the playground for a while, having fun with the digi cam and my cool bendable tripod. We decided to take a little walk on a trail. I was wearing flip flops because it was truly spontaneous, we were on our way to Target.

We were walking and David heard a rustle in the brush. My heart skipped a little beat. YES! It was him!!! If you watch toward the end of the video he gets pretty close to the camera. He was walking straight towards me, David was video taping, and he kept coming, like just a foot in front of me. I didn't want him to take a nibble on my bare toesies, so I jumped back and scared him. That is why he runs away at the end of the video.

How cool is that! A live armadillo!

Check out the pics from our adventure click here.

ps- Blogger was so annoying this weekend. It took me days to get the video uploaded.

Can he swim?

This is little Buttons.

One of Rigby's favorite things to do is drink water. In fact the cat's little song I sing them is
"Abbey is so cute, Abbey is so cute, Abbey is so cute..... and Rigby likes to drink water."

He has 3 faces.
1. Sleepy
2. Grumpy/sleepy
3. I just drank water... see my wet chin?

When Abbey has some behavior problems (rarely) I have a little squirty bottle and she HATES it so much that I just show it to her and she stops. I try to spray Rigby and he just sits there, confused saying "That's weird." till he is soaking wet.

David and I always thought maybe he wouldn't mind taking baths. For any of you non-cat people out there, if you have a cat they DO NOT bathe well. It only takes one bloody fiasco for you to learn it too.

Tonight we tried sticking Rigby in my bath water and he did ok. I didn't put him all the way in because it was kinda deep. He got his whole back half in before he was like "Huh. I think I might get out now." he he he he! It was really cute. He just sat in my towel afterwards falling asleep.

I think we might pursue this further. I might have a swimming cat! YouTube here we come!!!

There were 4 in the bed and the kitties said ROLL OVER!

I am a victim of a tiny bed.

Every night I end up with a grievously small portion of bed. I start off he night like a normal human being and continually scoot up to get away from Rigby. Yet he drags himself closer to me until I am curled up like a Pompeii mummy.

Of course poor David's feet hang off the edge of the bed. But he says he is used to it.

Abbey likes to be at the foot of the bed where David can't kick her. But close enough to me to inconvenience my legs into a scrunched accordion.

No. A full is not big enough for 2 cats, a 6ft 7in man and not-little-enough ol' me.

I wake up in the middle of night thinking about the morning when everyone gets off the bed. I like to just stretch out (ahhhhhhhhhh) and have the bed all to my self. My joints clicking and popping. David says I could just move the cats, but I guess I am too nice or a push over.

David and I dream for the day we can get a king size bed. Room to spread out, to be so far away the kitties become carrier pigeons between David and I and if David tosses I don't feel the rippling mattress till 30 seconds later. Yeah, I am talking SPACE!

Yes you do see a little dotted line kitty, that is my projected kitty I have been begging for. I will get it. As you can also see there is not dotted line doggie bed, I have come to terms with the fact that David will never let me get a doggie. sigh.
ps- David drew all the pictures. Thanks.

Twinkies

Well my mind is fully focused on the little Twinkies.

  • Leah is almost done with school work, which means I am almost done with school work.
  • The nursery (crazy to call it that) is almost finished and lookin' good!
  • The Belly has grown. I watch them roll around in there. They are powerful little guys.
I realise that Leah and Michael are way more excited than me, but I am not sure how! I am pretty darn excited. he he
The countdown is getting smaller. Hopefully 2 or 3 more weeks.
Any bets on their arrival date?
Any advice for this first time Auntie?
