So I have officially had a headache for a solid week. I have tried the following remedies in varying combinations:
*Ibuprofen
*Excedrin
*Sudafed
*Zyrtec
*Imitrex
*Cold, dark room
*Day off from work
*Caffeine
No dice. Still have the headache. Imitrex actually stopped my evil demon headache, but left me so unbelievably sore. It took me back to the dreaded neck broken days. ahhhhh! flashbacks!!
I am totally not wanting to go to the doctor. So blogosphere.... help!
The babies, Leah and Michael are in town too and I am missing them. Stupid headache. But it seems whenever they come into town I become helplessly ill. :/

weird Week...
I think we can all say this has been a strange week for pop culture...
I had a weird week at work. Lots of people were out, so it was strangely quiet and I got strangely caught up... shhhh don't tell anyone or they might remedy that.
Also I had a booger of a headache all week, and yesterday it just about attacked me. Abbey is the Florence Nightingale of our little family. She took up vigil yesterday just trying to keep me happy and comfortable. I lub her. Rigby actually slept with me for some of the day, I was surprised considering he doesn't sleep at all anymore.
So excited it is Friday. It has been one heck of a life lately but I think... hopefully things are taking a turn for the better.
Enjoy your weekends people. WOOO HOOO!!!

Vonderful Veekend...
After the last couple of horrible weeks I really needed a good weekend, filled with good things and no worries. So I checked my 'baggage' and decided to have a great weekend.
Saturday, we went to a chinese restaurant. Since money has been tight lately we have been really good about not eating out. But the lunch special at my chinese place (in town) is great. And I must be super lucky cause I got a TWIN fortune cookie!!! I texted my mom this picture and said 'Its twins! The do run in the family!' She texted back 'Again?' he he he.
Then we went to get my haircut!! I donated 11 inches to Locks of Love. Yessssss! I got my inches. And Darcy did a super job, better than I would have hoped for. In total she probably took off 12-13inches of my hair. It is so much cooler and I only need a tiny dot of shampoo. he he. So in love.

After showing my hair to my mom, we went to get my new fishy. A couple weeks ago our fish Nemo finally passed. Our apartment just wasn't the same so I twisted David's arm and got a new one... Peekaboo!!!
Saturday night my mom had some steaks in the freezer and we came over for a steak dinner. Fancy! David did all of the grilling and did a great job. We need to get a house and get this boy a grill. My mom did the baked potatoes (which were stupid good), corn and greens... all I did was the brownies. And then we watched Ghost Town. I really liked it. It was super funny.
Sunday, we did lunch with David's dad at Lupe. That was nice. And after lunch did the traditional drive through Rice campus.
When we went home we watched Taken, cause we hadn't seen it in the theater. It was really good. I liked it a lot. Of course there was a lot of "OH!"s from David. Some "Get 'em"s from me. I recommend it, if you are like us and the last people on earth to see it.
To continue our movie theme... sorta by accident, we stumbled across the original Father of the Bride on TCM. It was SO funny. Loved it!!! Then as we were about to turn it off the sequel (didn't know they did those back then 1951) came on and we got sucked in. That was funny too! Like laugh out loud funny. AND I kept seeing people I knew!! First Gideon (7 Brides for 7 Brothers)!!! Then Glenda the good witch (Wizard of Oz)!! And Dr. Bellows (I Dream of Jeannie)!
AND!!! (I know. more? yes!) JENI HAD THE BABY!!!! Logan came on Father's Day. I just knew he would. I can not wait to meet him.
That is all. That was my great weekend.
Friday, of course, was MexiFriday. My dad was out of town so it was just my mom and David at Escalantes. Delightful as always. And as usual we went back to my parents and watched a movie, Revolutionary Road. (they didn't like it. I thought it was good. they said cause I am 'literary')

raindrops on roses and wiskers on kittens...
Last night I got home from work and plopped into bed. I was pooped. Abbey came to sit with me and we spooned.
One of my favorite things about Abbey is, some nights she shares my pillow with me and I will wake up and see I am using Abbey as a pillow. Yesterday, I wake up from my early evening nap and I my head is resting on my sweet Abbs. I got so happy.
Those little ones make me happy. David, sorry to say it, you can't hold a candle to how these furries can lift my spirit.
While I was laying there getting adjusted on a real pillow, cause my head has to be heavy, I was thinking about all the things that make me happy. Thank you Julie Andrews.
* Mexican Friday
* Swinging
* Sleeping in
* Naps
* Kittys for pillow (that let you drop tears on their pretty fur)
* Romping kitties that couldn't romp before
* Cool, fluffy pillows
* Grammy's Chocolate Icecream
* Pretty Pink Toes
* New clothes
* Sunflowers, Tulips, and wildflowers
* Library Smell, that book smell.. :)
* Dreams where I fly
* Candy, candy, candy!
* 1/2 day Fridays
* Vacations and hotels
* Summer TV
* Peace and quiet
* Piccomolo

Invitation to the past...
:: This week has felt long, for lots of reasons.
1. Headaches. Something is coming, or possibly it is just hot. I feel like I am God's chicken nugget. (under a giant heat lamp)
2. When it rains it pours. David's car needs work. Money is tight. ps- I hate money.
3. Waiting waiting waiting to get my haircut this weekend. I have had my hair in a bun for the past month because of said heat as well as it is so so so long. I was growing out my hair for Locks of Love again. They have changed their length minimum to 10 in! So I pushed back my appointment for a month (stupid) to see if I could get some extra length. Well, whether I have enough to donate is beside the point now, I am dying.
Really only Wednesday? guh.
:: We have been trying to cook more for the previously stated whine, money is tight. Well. Apparently I stink.
Saturday- I burnt our little turnovers. Even though I have seen my mom make them in the toaster oven... that doesn't mean I can. Mom's are superheros. Taco Bell was our Plan B.
Sunday- Great idea to make Chicken Spaghetti and invite my mom over. :/ Spaghetti painfully overcooked. More like Chicken Pad Tai. Again, Mom's are superheros. Mine ate my icky lunch happily. David ate happily too and even ate the leftovers... yuck.
:: Leah sent me this in the mail...
It is the invitation to my bridal shower, 4 years ago tomorrow. Weird. Four years blows my mind. What were you guys doing 4 years ago?
It was such a cute shower. Leah made an apron cake, and yummy orzo salad and some other stuff I can't remember. All my pictures are in storage... still.
Thanks Leah for the invitation, and the shower.

christmas in june...
Monday I listened to Sleigh Ride. I know. But it came on and I said oh I'll just listen to the first part... and that turned into the whole song.Today I forgot my lunch on the counter (I was flustered because my freeway was completely shut down and I had to find a route into town. :/) Basically I am starving. Thank goodness for the squirreling of cereal in my purse which I added to a Diet Dp for lunch. Partially hallucinating from hunger, (I am a wimp) I have a delicious taste in my mouth.... my mother's candy cane cookies. So buttery and delicious and 6 months away.
So unfair.
I think we need a Christmas in June, so we only have to live 6 months without lights, and yummy foods and snowglobes.... just saying.
ps- i found this recipie on-line, i don't know if it is my mom's but they look about right. seriously my mouth is crazy town watering.

work is totally getting in the way of my blogging...
Why do we have to work again?
:: In other animal news, Maverick aka Mav, Leah and Michael's kitty has moved to Houston. The doctor thinks Brody's respiratory problems might be that he is allergic to cats. So Leah packed him up and met us in Ft. Worth. He was a very good passenger. And, I am happy to say, has settled in nicely with my mom. Although he misses his family, he wants Brody to feel his best. (yet another reason not to have children. in our house furries come first!)

:: Nemo, our rescued fishy, has passed. He has being floating funny for the last month and had stopped dancing for food. Farewell little fishy. Have a great vacation.

:: Ok, so here are the pictures from Jeni's baby shower. I was representin' the Navy at this one.
The cute favors.
Ashley, Jeni's sister-in-law made this cute cake!!!
Licking the poopy diaper... ok it was Butterfinger.
The toilet paper game.... she was 12 squares around.
:: I can't get over this little booger. I just love him. And I love that he lets me take pictures of him. Getting a pretty one of Abbey... there is a thrill to the chase.

no baby fever...
Just wondering if I am the last woman on the planet who isn't pregnant?
I think pretty much every woman in my generation is...
was there a memo I missed?

tick tock the clock has stopped...
Time is literally standing still at this moment, and not in a good way. This week has been never ending... and just plain bad.
:: Work has been a bear. Luncheons and projects due, and farming out my every second. And I have made some big mistakes, which I hate hate. I just want to do well at my job and have my coworkers appreciate the work I do and cut me some slack when I have a crazy week and mess up. Ugh. Not going to talk about it anymore.
:: Nightmares. Seriously? What is up with that?
:: This feeling of being on a really awful, drama-filled loop. I just want to get off this ride. Even if I don't end up where I want to be.
I am going up to Lewisville this weekend for Jeni's baby shower. I can't believe he is almost here! My mommy is coming with me on the drive; I am going to drop her off at Grammy's. The DFW express is leaving Friday. It will feel really good to drive again. My long distance driving kept me sane, sort of, while I was in Abilene. I miss it.
David is staying in town, all by his lonesome because he has a muster. I know, I thought we were done with this crap too. But he has been given strict orders from me, when approached by recruiters from the reserves, he is only allowed to say "NO!" If they continue to talk he is to plug his ears and run away screaming "La la la la la la la la la!"
Happy June people.
