3, 2, 1...

THREE
I am in a wedding this weekend, bringing my bridesmaid total to 3.
This one should be pretty fun. It is laid back and casual. Congrats and Best Wishes to Mel and Rob!

Maybe I can get David to dance some? Maybe?

TWO
Two months till July. July is a big month for us. I will be turning 26, David will be turning 25 and David and I will celebrate our anniversaries- dating and married (4 years!).

I have been thinking lately about where we are in our lives. We have almost been in Houston for a whole year. I was trying to remember a time when I was actually where I wanted to be. In high school of course I wanted to be far far away, in college I wanted to be far far from Abilene... I could go on.
But listen to this, David and I are where we want to be. This is huge. All the dreaming and waiting for us to actually be together and be a real couple, to live in Houston with our families and have friends and a life... we did it.

This is not to say that our lives are perfect. I still have some pretty lofty goals. I know that there is something more in me, I have a great story in me. But if I go line by line over my prayers, they have been answered, maybe not how I would have pictured it, but still what a feeling.

ONE
Juan new kitty! And how is little Juan in a Million Buttons? GREAT! It is like having a different cat. He is awake more and interested in toys. His balance seems a little better, he is still falling over occasionally but I haven't seen him falling in the potty box anymore. Even better is that he hasn't fallen down his stairs at all since we got him his medicine, which used to be a daily occurrence. Even more encouraging is he is supposed to get increasingly better!

This feels so good to have him better, and I didn't know that anything was wrong.

The Itch...

I am getting the itch, the I want to escape and drive itch. Work is good but just more of the same. And I am getting bored, very bored. Of course there is still lots of work to do I am just tired of doing it.

Any suggestions on how to spice up my day?

So what to do? Take mini-breaks to blog and look pictures of my kitties. I have gotten some good ones lately. Take a peak, if you haven't already.

Vacation envy...

I need a vacation. I don't remember my last one, well I do. It was last July, we went to Galveston for a day or two to celebrate our anniversary.

In November we went to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving. In February we went up to Abilene for the boys birthday party. And since then have stayed put.

So all you cruisers, and jet setters... I am jealous. I am just getting pretty excited to have a vacation day in May.

--- ---- --- ---- --- ----

This Friday is my company's "Park Day." It is like a field day for grown ups. (Please envision my lip curling and eyes rolling dangerously far back into my head.)

I am not what you might call athletic nor do I wish to play co-ed sports. Men are so competitive and mean. I have been having anxiety for weeks about this stupid Park Day. Breaking a leg has actually sounded like a pretty good solution to this little problem.

Oh not to mention it takes place in the morning. This must be some deep issue from elementary school, but I hate to exercise in the morning, it makes me nauseous. Being outside early in the morning makes my tummy ache. Pretty much the whole sports with people I don't know makes me want to hurl.

And to make this whole thing worse, it is mandatory. Like you can't even take the day off... yes I tried. Maybe I am going to have to get swine flu...

Juan in a Million...

*Before I begin you must watch the Travel Channel on Wednesday nights at 8ish, for Man vs. Food. Too funny. He recently visited Juan in a Million in Austin; a little burrito shop.

So little Rigby Buttons has a diagnosis! He is, as the vet said, 1 in a million. He has hypothyroidism which has been causing the weakness in his hind legs. Although a cat with such a disorder is VERY rare, it is a very easy disorder to treat. Many dogs have hypothyroidism but cats seldom get it. He will begin a treatment in hopes it will help some of his balance issues.

I am so happy he doesn't have diabetes. Now I only have to give him a pill in the morning and a pill at night, NO SHOTS!, and Rigby is a pretty good pill taker. PS- Abbey is a sweet girl too. She is is a 1 in a million pretty girl.

(Photo above) Rigby was hiding under the bed during the big storm this weekend. He doesn't like thunder.

Also I think I have filled my blog quota for the week. Right?

A hard rains a gonna fall...

A Weekend Review

Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?
Shopping for a dress for a wedding. Very frustrating. I need a black or black and white dress. Either there is a perfect dress just not black, doesn't fit or costs an arm, leg and other such appendages.

Also while shopping I cut my toe on the heal of a shoe. There was lots of blood. And I decided against those shoes. And quickly left the store dragging my bloody stump of a toe behind me.

Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?

A wild, rip roaring storm. It rained 7 inches this weekend (give or take).
We got to play watch the bayous.
- It is pretty full.
- It is full.
- Eeeek!

My Mom got caught in the first down pour on Friday and was soaked to the bone. Luckily my dad could bring her a dry set of clothes to her birthday party.

Oh, who did you meet, my darling young one?
My family got together for my mommy's belated birthday celebration. I am overwhelmed by how good it is to be so close to them. It is still fresh in my mind living 3000 miles away and how much I missed all of them.

And here is a little shot out to my mom, Happy Birthday! (Still working on that cake.)

Oh, what'll you do now, my darling young one?

I don't even want to think about how busy this week is going to be. It is going to be a bear. But I am already almost through one day. Checking things off my list feels good. I am really hoping I survive to Thursday, it will be my slower day...

Thank you to Mr. Bob Dylan for today's blog theme.

Weekly Fatigue...

It is Friday people so I know you are feeling the same way...

I am SO over this week.

Sometimes I wish I could write my own life without any acknowledgment of reality.
*Money would grow on trees. (Why even craft a saying so tempting?)
*Cake would be good for you.
*Decisions would be simple and obvious. Don't even get me started on the aloofness of God's will.
*There would be no limit on how many animals I could get. And all of them would be healthy and give me kisses and cuddles.
*After a hard day I would go swing, like when I was a kid. Literally the most calming and freeing activity on the planet.
*Buying a house would go like this:
"I'd like a house please."
"Ok. Which would you like?"
"This one!"
"Here you are. That would be $100,000.02 please."
"Alright. 1, 2, 3,.... 100. I am all out of pennies."
"That's ok. Leave a penny, take a penny."
"WOO HOO!"
*When you have a sleepless nights, crazy nightmares, you can sleep in and be late for work, cause there are numerous people who know how and are willing to make coffee.

Like I said void of reality.

Rigby Update
So Rigby was thought to have diabetes. The test results came back as normal. So they took more blood and think it might be hypothyroidism. It could explain his gate and weak legs and cause him to be lethargic, I still think he is sleepy.

And the vet said it caused his unusually shaped head.... :/ My kitty has a perfectly normal head, a cute head in fact. He must not know my Buttons.

What a week.

Lost in waiting...

Waiting is the theme in my world right now.

Wait for the right time.
Wait for the call.
Wait for results.
Wait for offers.
Wait for the future.
Wait for light.
Wait Wait Wait.

I am lost in all my waiting.

Rigby Buttons went to the vet on Monday. He needed his ears cleaned out. We mentioned how his little leg look like it hurts him still and asked him to look at his broken joint.

Well the vet saw something he didn't expect. (of course. Buttons always does that.) His joint is fine, he has full range of movement but his stance and gate is not normal. So they took some blood and are running some tests.

When I think about how worried I am about this little cat I wonder how crazy I must seem. He is a kitty. But I love him desperately. And Abbey too. But it is strange to me that 80% of my friends are having children or trying to have children and I am perfectly content with the little family I have.

I must be strange.
