achey breaky...

So I have officially had a headache for a solid week. I have tried the following remedies in varying combinations:
*Ibuprofen
*Excedrin
*Sudafed
*Zyrtec
*Imitrex
*Cold, dark room
*Day off from work
*Caffeine

No dice. Still have the headache. Imitrex actually stopped my evil demon headache, but left me so unbelievably sore. It took me back to the dreaded neck broken days. ahhhhh! flashbacks!!

I am totally not wanting to go to the doctor. So blogosphere.... help!

The babies, Leah and Michael are in town too and I am missing them. Stupid headache. But it seems whenever they come into town I become helplessly ill. :/

Headaches! I've had my share and then some. Tried everything you've tried. Like you, I'd experienced a couple of car accidents that whip lashed my nedk.

The things that finally helped me most were:

a chiropractor who suggested warm compress followed by ice packs and a new pillow shaped in such a way to force me to sleep on my back with support for the cervical spine in my neck. Not nearly as much fun nor as soft as a warm Abbey Cat.

my ballet teacher who worked on my posture and spinal alighment and taught me the importance of stretching out all my muscles.

post menopause, I've ditched the hard pillow and the hot compress. Now I use a warm shower with a massage spray head just before bed.

and a massage is always helpful. But who can affored the $$$ so a little aspercream (unscented: I may be getting old but I really don't want to smell like BenGay instead of my too expensive perfume) and a good back rub from hubby works wonders for me.

Yoga also helped me out when I was feeling gross and all tense right after being disease girl. It's not good to do in the throes of a migraine, but it certainly helped me get all relaxed, which is part of what makes my migraines worse - being all tense. Even just doing some of the stretches help. My neurologist suggested tensing everything up and then relaxing so I'm aware of my muscles, and that's kind of shocking - I'm usually not even noticing what I'm tightening up. Anything I can do to keep me relaxed helps me - sadly, drugs usually do little on that front.
