Don't make me turn this car around!

*WARNING political post*

I can solve all of our country's political problems.

By the way, I am not a fan of Washington. The bickering, lies, insincerities... Yesterday no matter who won the election I was simply happy it was over.

But yes, I know how to solve the childishness political system. I can't believe no one has thought of it before.
In addition to checks & balances American democracy needs a
National Mom.

This isn't a feminist argument, well maybe a little. But not just any woman could fill the role. Sadly women today have to compete with men to succeed and therefore squashing the very qualities we need more of.

A man may be the head of the family but the force that drives it forward - Mom. Mom gets the kids up, stops the fights, promotes sharing, kisses boo boos, feeds us dinner and then surprise cookies if we finish our broccoli.
Ok, are you with me yet?

Let's let the men keep their big businesses power positions, men are great at making money. But maybe women are just better leaders. Especially when it comes to taking care of men.

There is too much testosterone in government hence the pissing contest... er presidential campaign. (What is it with men & pee? They will pee anywhere. Take a man into the woods for a walk and the first thing he does is giggle when he marks a tree.)

National Mom would
  • Care for the little people
  • Remind us to be nice to our brother/sister
  • Manage the country's grocery bill
  • And bake us cookies just because she loves us
I'm in.
And will be nominating Mary Poppins...wait she is British.

path maker

No one ever asked how I want to live my life they only told me how I should and there seems to be a lot of opinions.

I want to stand up for my own way, however odd and backwards it may seem.

Here's to the journey -- if not now, when?

ladies ladies ladies

Ian Malcolm: God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs.
Ellie Sattler: Dinosaurs eat man … woman inherits the earth.
-Jurassic Park

Ladies-
What are we waiting for? Dinosaurs? If you haven't noticed we haven't done enough regarding women's issues. I know what you are thinking, feminism is wrong somehow? I've been there. I remember it perfectly. I was discussing how Mulan was a great addition to the Disney princess movies because finally a strong female character is being portrayed. A male member of the church told me being a feminist was "wrong."

Wanting to be treated fairly is not feminism. Wanting the same opportunities as your male coworkers is not feminism. You can still respect men and DEMAND respected in return!

We haven't done enough. I've seen it first hand.
Was take your daughter to work day all in vain? Here is daddy's job but you can only expect to be a secretary... I mean Administrative Assistant. Even if you are promoted out of an admin role, expect to be treated like one based only on your gender. Because sweetheart, princess, men make the money. Men are smarter, and better leaders.

Well guess what Boys Club, you didn't know who you were throwing under the bus. You didn't know I've seen Mulan AND Jurassic Park. And your male membership card will only get you so far.

I don't care if I have to work harder just because I am a woman. But I won't be last.

Let's go get em girls!!!!

Implications?

I think everyone feels a little tubby now and again. Last week as I am walking to my car to speed off to work a car in the parking lot slams on its breaks and a man hops out. I increase my pace.

"Miss!"
(internal) "Ignore. Ignore."
"Miss!"
I turned around.

The conversation that followed was both awkward and embarrassing. The man and his wife sell girdles. Yes girdles. And I guess seeing me walk through the parking lot they assumed I might want to lose 2 dress sizes. Ouch.

And just in case you think that isn't weird enough, or possibly the male population is jealous of this encounter, not much could have predicted how the conversation ended.

"And me, I am wearing this one right here," points to flyer to male model in a corset. Then he lifts his shirt. He was in fact wearing a girdle. (I expect all readers to have an unturned lip at this point)

It was weird.

ps- if anyone is interested I have Michelle's number, as well as information if you too would like to sell undergarments for some extra cash or feel and innate desire to harass young women.
